Gift Guide: Teachers

Every year I ask myself the same thing.....What do I get for my kid's teachers? I mean, I want to thank them for educating my children, who aren't always so easy to get along with, but I don't really *know* them. So what should I get them? Without further further ado, I have put together a few fabulous suggestions from my fellow Etsyians.....

All teachers need one of these fabulous key fobs from tumpuscreations. I mean, all teachers are always losing their keys right? With one of these wristlet key fobs, that won't be an issue any longer. With tons of snazzy prints, and an affordable price, they'd make great gifts for all the teachers on your list!

Be sure to check out these fabulous book board pendants by prettytheory for your favorite English teacher. Once again, she has a wide variety of choices, so you're sure to find something for each teacher on your list. I love this French Pear pendant!

These personalized teacher note cards by staccato are just the thing for that hard to buy for teacher! All teachers write notes, correct? Wouldn't you like to get one of these cute little note cards to tell you that little Johnny has been slacking off again?

This wonderful 12 ounce coffee mug by KarinLorenc is sure to bring a smile to any math teacher's face. Math was never my strong subject, but I sure do love the shape of this mug. I mean, all teachers drink coffee (or tea) right?

How about a juicy MacIntosh Apple soy candle by yours truly? Candles are the perfect gift for anyone who is hard to buy for. Theywhen go great when paired with note cards or a key fob. Just a little something extra to say "thanks".

Sleepless Nights Are Upon Us

If anyone has any remedies for insomnia, please share. I long to be like the dog in this ink drawing by ElisaAlvarado......asleep...and very comfortably too it seems! In fact, come to think of it, my very own dog slept like a log last night, snoring and running in her sleep. How do I know this? Because while I was laying there, wide awake, I heard her. She was chasing squirrels or something in her dreams, whimpering and snuffling and her little toes were moving. They're so cute when they do that aren't they? Then, when I rolled over yet again, guess what? Hubby was looking right at me! He wasn't having any luck sleeping either! I'm not sure why this was, in fact, I couldn't even bring myself to get up and craft. Instead, we laid in bed watching crappy TV until 2 AM (and oh was it crappy!), which was the last time that I remember looking at the clock. Either I stopped looking, or I fell asleep, I'm unsure of which, but I can tell you that 6:45 AM came really early this morning.

My first cup of joe is not touching my sleep fogged mind. Of course it looks nothing like this delicious fine art photograph by mariterecr. If it did, maybe it would wake me up? Of course, I think coffee as perfect looking as this only comes from room service, so that would be fine too..maybe I could sleep in, and then order coffee! Which would mean I was on vacation! YAY!!! (One can dream, no?) Where would I be? Hmmm..Hawaii? Bora Bora? Any one of those places would suit me fine. Wait, wake me up, I'm dreaming while I'm awake.

So now the million dollar question....do I give in and go back to sleep, despite having drank coffee already, or do I just keep drinking the coffee and hoping that it will wake me up and help me be a productive member of society today? I know what you're thinking....about that productive member of society comment....and just...HUSH!

I did manage to make a few paper products yesterday before heading of to bed, so I better get to work! :) Happy Wednesday everyone!

Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death........

This morning, as I pried the lids open to consciousness, the first thing that popped into my head was, "Give me coffee..STAT!" So I hopped on Etsy and found some of my favorite coffee items, like this fabulous art print by vol25. Although at this point, I'd probably keep both of those cups for myself instead of sharing.

I was thrilled to find this chocolate coffee cake soap from laceysgarden. I mean, how much more decadent can you get? I'm definitely putting this on my B&B list of must haves! YUM!

For those that don't like the taste of coffee, but do enjoy the smell, this 8 ounce soy candle by yours truly would be the perfect addition to warm your house this fall season!

I love this 2 x 2 tile by GretchenKramp. I think that not only would it adorn my refridgerator beautifully, but if I was to design my own kitchen, I would find a way to work these around the perimeter of the tilework. MMMmmmm...coffee goodness all the time!

Wear your love of coffee with this gorgeous necklace by LavenderCottage. I love this!

Every coffee lover needs a great place to lay their spoon after a good stir. This spoon rest by TexasCeramics is perfect! How do I know? Well I have one of course! It goes just splendidly with my pirate kitchen decor!

So pour another cup, coffee lovers, and come check out the fabulous handmades on Etsy!

The Sweetest Cup of Coffee EVER!

Here it is. It doesn't look like anything special does it? No whipped cream, no froo froo froth, no cinnamon sprinkled on top. In fact, it came from my own coffee maker at my house. To be completely honest, I was going to take a picture of me drinking my first cup of morning coffee but I figured I'd save you that horror....it's not pretty.

What's special about this coffee? THE MUG!!!! That's right! This mug was a custom request I made of Jim at Bridgeman Studios on Etsy. He was happy to comply. The man is truly a marvel with mud and a master at his craft. See that custom logo of mine on the side? I requested it in black, as my colors are now black, red and white, and in the shape of a large teacup I believe were my exact words. The mug is comfortable to hold, contains a large amount of liquid caffeine, and is just all around a pleasure to behold. I'm in love! I was so proud to open my mail yesterday and get this mug, and just couldn't wait to have my first cup of coffee in it! Not only does Jim make mugs, he makes GORGEOUS clay works of art! He also makes other functional clay items. Stop by and check him out! Jim also has his own website HERE.

I will definitely be stopping back for some of his hearts. They're truly gorgeous.

Kudos Jim!!!
