New Packaging

OK, well here it is, the moment you've all been waiting for....the debut of my new packaging. I was sick of the old prim looking brown labels on my candles, so I decided to do a whole shop overhaul. I think this is more my style.

The first two pictures are obviously candles..showing shots of my new labels. The scent will be written on the back of the heart. The last picture is of my jewelry branding. If you purchase a jewelry item from my shop it will come packaged like this.

So? What do you think? Good? Bad? Indifferent? Is packaging really that important? Either way, I'm happy with it, I am not particularly crazy about the ribbon, but I'll keep a look out for some other black ribbon (maybe organza) that fits the bill, until then, it's this black ribbon because it's readily available.

Holidays and Commercialism

So I really hate to go to a store any more at Christmas and see Valentine's Day stuff out, or at Valentine's Day and see Easter stuff. It seems like they just get it out earlier and earlier every single year. It drives me bonkers. I try really hard not to do this in my own shops, but lately, I find I can not help myself! The paper selection is great when you shop early! And then I can't wait to get things listed, so it's like a vicious cycle. I finally believe I am done with Valentine's Day, not that I don't like the holiday, I mean, why wouldn't a girl love a holiday that means chocolate and flowers? Sheesh! BUT....I've moved on ......to Saint Patrick's Day! :) Above you'll see some pictures of new designs for the Luck o' the Irish! I could not resist the paper!

Hubby had a great breakthrough in his screen printing journey last night, so we may see screen printed goodies coming sooner to his shop than I originally thought. AND...more importantly, frustrated as he is, he hasn't given up yet! YAY!

Today, I sit here and revel in the quietness of my house, it's just me and the dog! After a month, my husband has gone back to work! And, with the kids at school, this means (hopefully) more creativity time for me! :) So it's almost 2 PM, I'm about to put the coffee pot on for the afternoon and the dog and I are about to get to work!

Heart Lock and Key gift tags

So today I really did wait until the 11th hour to create something. I was so uninspired all day....that all changed after I decided to take a trip to AC Moore on a whim after one of my children's doctor appointments. Who knew that paper was on sale there this week? Not I! In fact, I fully intended to just take a spin around and not buy anything (HAHAHA..yeah right..if you believe that, I'll tell you another one), but anyway, the purpose was to see if I couldn't jump start my creative juices. I sure did walk out of there with some grand paper (hubby just groaned when I came home!) to add to my collection. So here I am, at 11 PM creating with my new goodies. I love these little heart lock tags. I know I keep saying I'm done with Valentine's Day, but apparently I'm not. I think I secretly like it!. These were just too cute to pass up. This particular set is cream and burgundy, but I can make them in other colors (and I have! Just pacing myself with the listing!)

I've also been making little pillow box sets. They're SO cute! Perfect for party favors at baby showers, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, even kids parties! Really they're great for whatever you can think of! I'm very excited about the debut of these two new items in my Auntie's Card Shop.
