Oh Deployment Tree....

I am totally in the Christmas spirit, I just don't want to hang lights and lug that big 7' tree up the stairs and stuff! So yesterday when we were at Target, I was musing how I didn't really want to put up the huge tree we have, although I love Christmas and I wanted to decorate, I just didn't want to go full bore. The kids and I meandered around a bit, and suddenly my daughter's eyes lit up and she said "There it is mom! The PERFECT tree..." So I follow her pointing finger to a display with these cute little trees. They're about 2 feet tall, and fiber optic. I saw how cute the little green one was and thought "Oh that *IS* perfect, I could totally do that!" I was all set to snag it up and put it in the cart. Only $20, how could I go wrong?? I went to grab it and I got the "Not that one mom!! Look! Up there!!!" I focused my gaze up a few shelves, and inwardly let out a huge groan. SILVER!!! It was...well...somehow, she begged enough and it ended up in the cart. They don't make little angels or stars small enough for the top of those teenie trees, or if they do, they didn't have them at Target. So we ended up with the bow and some funky colored ornaments. All in all, I don't think it turned out badly?

Well either way, we made some awesome hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows, and now we're watching The Polar Express in our jammies!

Tomorrow, it's back to work! :)
