Yarn Porn ~ Undiscovered Etsy Talent ~ HooksandEyes

I will fully admit, that I don't know a darn thing about yarn, but I sure do know that it's soft and cuddly, and that Theresa from HooksandEyes, has some fabulous yarn!

When I asked her to tell me a little bit about herself, this is what she had to say:

"I learned to crochet from my grandmother as a little girl, but I didn't really get into crochet until about 6 years ago when my little girl was born. I wanted to make beautiful baby things for her. After awhile I began to admire some of the beautiful yarns available. I found a fiber community at Craftster and was bit by the bug to learn how to spin my own beautiful yarns. My darling husband gave me a learn to spin kit one Christmas so I sat down and taught myself to spin based on reading and photographs. I made some very lumpy natural colored wool yarn which became a scarf for my husband. I am totally embarrassed yet completely pleased with that funny looking scarf. After about 3 months of spindle spinning I got my first wheel and I’ve been spinning like a mad woman ever since."

Reflecting Pool Handspun Bamboo Yarn $30.25

And doing a fabulous job of it at that! While browsing through her shop, my eyes were practically popping out of my head with all the beautiful colors and textures they saw there.

I have to say that I think this one is my favorite! Absolutely stunning.

If You're Feelin' Froggy

You should defnitely jump to FroggyFibers' Etsy shop. I know there are a lot of you yarn-a-holics out there, and LaRhanda has some of the most gorgeous yarns ever! I can picture these as scarves, hats, sweaters..and I'm not even a fiber fanatic!!

This 28 year old wife and mother loves to explore the fiber world. She started out crocheting at her first job out of college. Her co-worker taught me all the fundamentals she would need to start. Since they worked second shift at an insurance call center they could bring in something to occupy the down time between calls. Eventually she wanted to learn more, and by the glory that is the internet, she stumbled upon a group who made their own yarns. So the spinning bug bit. She started spinning in 2004 and since then, she has learned many new things. She now considers herself a crocheter, spinner, dyer, knitter and occasionally a felter.
