I used to make soap.....tons and tons of soap. I loved it, but something had to give. I had three shops, three kids and a husband, a house and a dog to take care of, and I had to let something go. So went the soap.

With the new year I decided that I really missed making soap A LOT, and maybe it was time to bring it back. Maybe not to the extent that I used to make it. Not tons and tons of soap, no fancy stuff this time, just plain, deliciously scented soap. I was a little hesitant to start up again, and that first batch was hard, but now I've got hundreds of ideas running through my head, just begging to be brought to life!

After much deliberation, and soul searching, I've decided to put Shine Your Hiney Soap Company up for sale. I do love to make soap, but my true calling is candles and jewelry, and since I've started three shops, I've been neglecting my Auntie Di's shop. To be true to my family, and myself, I don't have time to run three shops and raise kids. To be true to my company, it would be so much more successful if I had full time to devote to it! I will be continuing making jewelry, and at this point will start really working on new candle scents! I will also keep my Auntie's Card Shop open.

At no time am I saying I'm done making soap forever. I will no longer be packaging it like I did when I owned Shine Your Hiney Soap Co, but I still reserve the right to make soap and sell it in my Auntie Di's shop under my flying heart logo. Some time in the future, I'd like to offer candle/soap gift sets, but rest assured, I will not be making soaps in the scale I did when I owned Shine Your Hiney Soap Co. (If ever...if you know me... you know that most of the time I run around like I'm losing my mind and have no idea what's going on, I may NEVER make soap again, but I still want to reserve the right to do so!

Chamomile Oatmeal Honey Buttermilk Soap

Say that 10 times fast will ya? It's a mouthful, but your skin will love you for it! So moisturizing and wonderful! And with the relaxing scent of chamomile, how could you go wrong? This is part of a new line of soaps I'm trying. Looks good enough to eat!

Sheep!!!

I guess you can say I've been on a soap kick lately! This little guy is scented "Cotton Blossoms"...fitting I thought. I think I'm going to make a few more of these for the show. He's just too darn cute! Maybe some other scents too...only I can't think of too much else that just goes with his sheepish little self. Oh well, maybe after a chocolate bar and some more coke, my brain will work.

My first show of the season is this weekend, and to be quite honest with you, it's kicking my butt. I haven't decided whether or not I wanted to re-card all my earrings (do you know how many pairs I have? LOL) to cards with my new logo, because to be quite honest, my doors don't have my logo on them, and of course I feel that everything must match. (I tease my husband a lot about being OCD, but really, I probably am too! LOL) But please, if you're out and about this weekend, feel free to stop by the Crown Coliseum, here in Fayetteville, NC and see us at the Craftsmen's Festival! :) It's antiques AND crafts. But still should be quite fun!

Bamboo Teak Crane Soap

Today I finally did it! I tried a two different color soap. I was scared....but it's not really as hard as I thought it would be.....and now, I have a TON of different ideas. The scent of this one is Bamboo Teak. It's luscious....Amber infused with the smoky scents of patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver, then topped with Eastern spices and a trace of white musk. I think the crane motif of this soap really brings it all together.



As you can see, I've also been working on the backgrounds for my soap shop. Are they too busy? I've got so many ideas running through my head for more soaps....I can't wait to try them! :)

New Soap YAY!

Well, I thought my last sick one would be back to school today, but her fever didn't really break, just went down for a while to almost normal. I'm guessing it's bronchitis. So we're off to the doctor at 1:30...in the nasty, pouring rain and cold. Brrrr...come on spring!

In the mean time, I made some lovely new soaps. The first is Green Clover and Aloe in an Olive Oil and Aloe base. If you're ready for spring, this is the soap for you! :) The second is Honey, Buttermilk, Goat Milk soap. VERY moisturizing. Unscented. Gentle. Great for winter skin blahs.

New Soaps

I've been a little neglect in the soap shop lately, but yesterday I made two wonderful new soaps.



This is the Rain Water soap. A nice fresh, clean scent. I like it a lot, and normally I'm not a fan of scents like this.



And just in time for Valentine's Day, Raspberry Guava. This one is so good I could put it in my mouth! It smells wonderful! In fact, I used some in my shower just yesterday. Yum.
