How Does Your Garden Grow?

I weeded my garden front flower beds today. Now those of you that know me, know I have a brown thumb. However, so far, the iris I planted have managed to grow, and the plants that were already there are still alive. When it came time for the treasury to open, I snagged one, and lo and behold, look what appeared?

Luck O' The Irish

I needed a well deserved break from packing stuff up and moving it around, so here it is, I managed to snag a treasury! And I've moved on to the next holiday...Saint Patrick's Day. I love my themes. LOL

Leather

I managed to snag another treasury this morning. I spent all morning thinking about spring, it's almost here (at least this week's weather says so!) and in the old days it would be time to saddle up and go for a ride! How I loved the smell of the tack room, all that well oiled leather. It seemed only fitting to create a treasury after one of my favorite scents and memories.

Ok, now back to preparing to move, I've done enough screwing around for the day.

Brrrrr....

It's pretty chilly out. Cold enough that I want to stay wrapped in my blanket in bed, although not nearly as cold as it is in other parts of the country. I am dreaming of a white Christmas, really, but I don't want it TOO white. Anyway, I was inspired to make this treasury this morning. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! For those of you getting snow....I'm jealous, only ...not TOO jealous!

Here Comes Santa Claus

Hard to believe there's only like 30 something days until Christmas huh? (Not to panic you all or anything.......) Anyway, so last night I made a treasury instead of working, somehow it stretched out to take about an hour. I was feeling quite Christmas like apparently, and just so happened to be in the right place at the right time I guess.

So I'm stressing over this weekends show, and what I should be doing right now is WORKING (see a pattern here?)...but instead, me and the mutt are sitting here in bed, all huddled up in the blanket like people and mutt burritos. Except that she's mad at me. So while I'm huddled and sharing my warmth, she's trying to make herself as small as possible and huffing as deeply as she can with these soul searching sighs every 2 minutes or so. Oh well. She'll live. Wench.

I'm dreading tomorrow. Tomorrow I go pick my mom up so she can stay with the kids while I do this weekend's show. If I survive, I will share some of the gory details here next week. I still haven't sterilized the house yet. God help her if she finds a dog hair in her food. Jeebus. Get ready for the Apocalypse.

Well, I'm off to get something done.

Wish me luck!

Getting Ready to Go Home

So we've spent most of our weekend camping in Myrtle Beach. It's been gorgeous, the weather was perfect, a little chill in the air at night, and high 70's/low 80's during the day. Those of you that know me, know that when I say 'camping'...I certainly don't mean roughing it....like....in a *cough* tent *cough* or something.... LOL We have a camper, a 27' travel trailer that we tote along with us. Momma doesn't ever "ROUGH" it. There's just something about having your own (clean) bathroom that is fabulous!

Anyway, we set up at the local KOA (Kampgrounds of America). It's normally very nice anyway, but at this time of year, it's quite empty. Everyone must be done camping for the year. Anyway, two spots over from us is a 'permanent' camper. That means that the camper has been put down, leveled out, and people live there full time. It has a deck built around it and everything. The people have a golf cart parked in the side yard. All well and nice, it looks neat, it's well taken care of. And now we know why. Every single morning at 8 AM, the man and woman come outside and fire up their trusty leaf blower and wet down the camper with a hose and blow off the deck and 'dry' it with the leaf blower and paper towels. Yesterday they mowed their lawn at 8:15. Now, I'm all about keeping up with your stuff, we take very good care of our camper also, but we don't do it right when the clock tells me that quiet time (from 11 PM to 8 AM) is over. GAH! Another one of those times that I wish I had a paintball gun so that I could shoot them. I swear I'm going to get one. I wonder if there's such a thing as the paintball equivalent of a sniper rifle. Ooooh....I will have to check into that. I'll need one of those. And the equivalent of a paintball machine gun so that I can spray offending drivers that piss me off whilst driving. I've wanted one of those for the longest time, and not only may it help people realize they're driving like jackasses, but I know it will make me feel better.

Well, we're in the process of packing up and getting out of here, so I guess I better get off the computer and help. I don't want there to be too much to do when we get back, because next weekend we're turning this sucker around and going to Asheboro, NC for the weekend. I have a show there. Those of you in the area should stop by and check out the Asheboro Fall Festival!

I did manage to snag a treasury last night after a nice walk on the beach. The dog wanted to chase the sandpipers and seagulls, which kinda sucked, because there was a leash law, so I got dragged along with her. The water was warm enough to dip our feet in. When we got back, the little nip in the air, made me think of the upcoming fall festivities, so I chose to do a Halloween treasury. I hope you enjoy it!

Have a great lazy Sunday everyone!

Lazy Sunday

As you can see, I got my fourth treasury today! I like making treasuries!

So I would like nothing more than a lazy Sunday afternoon nap. Not gonna happen I guess. I spent the morning sucking out the last of the water in the basement. There wasn't much, but it was enough that it needed a quick go over. The sump pump is definitely working now, in fact, it's still pumping water out. This afternoon I created some new goodies for the paper shop, a cool Scooby Doo Birthday Party set made with recycled game pieces, and this card:

A friend of mine has a son that is getting ready to deploy within the week, and in fact, my own family has a deployment looming on the horizon. I guess it's on my mind a lot. I spend a lot of time trying to force it out, but mostly it is there somewhere, just waiting for an idle moment to jump to the forefront of my mind and start screaming "Hey, look at me, here I am!!! Coming soon to a family near you!" And of course, I deal with it with neighbors and friends all around me on an almost daily basis.

On a much happier note, my new business cards should be here Tuesday, and a ton of new goodies for me to play with, so look for more fun and exciting stuff in the near future!

Yummmmm.....candy corn!

Alright, if you haven't heard me say it before, I'll say it now...I'm a Halloween junkie. Yup! I love it. One of the things I love most about it is....Candy Corn!! So yesterday, I found myself in the right place at the right time, and I managed to snag a treasury. I don't have the patience to stalk these things, like some of the harder core treasury makers, I guess that makes me a lightweight, but I do enjoy making them when I get the opportunity.

So yesterday, for the first time, I managed to open my door and turn down the AC, and I thought, what better way to celebrate the upcoming fall season, than a treasury to honor *the* bestest fall candy, the candy corn? I just need a slight chill in the air. Unfortunately, I think that's a long time coming.

Now I know some of you are gagging, sitting here reading this, thinking "Eeeewww, what is she THINKING? That stuff is sooooooo gross!!" Let me just say, there is nothing better than taking a can of salted peanuts and mixing it with a bag of candy corn. MMMM...Tastes like that old candy with the roasted nuts on the outside and the white fluffy inside, and is the perfect blend of salty and sweet.

My First Etsy Treasury EVER!

I've never put much stock in treasuries. I view them once in a while, and thank people for putting me in it, but today I was coerced into making my very first one! Of course, I picked a theme that was near and dear to my heart! :)

So if you get a chance and you're bored, or just need some optical stimulation, check out
my first treasury here!!
