Why Hello Stranger!

It's been so long since I've posted! We...ok ok, *I*...there was no "we" involved.... rescued a new puppy from some mean people at Walmart. That was almost 3 months ago. Isn't he adorable? He's sporting his Holy Cow collar by the fabulous Jennie B. Goode. His name is Pirate. (We already have Mama Poochins, whose name is Pearl a.k.a. The Black Pearl, so it was only fitting that we have a piratey name for this little guy!)

It's getting to be that time of year that I love...fall and Halloween! Now if only the weather would follow suit! There's lots of new things in my shops, because you know how much of a Halloween fanatic I am! Be sure to stop by and say "hey", I've missed you all!

Undiscovered Etsy Talent ~AJSWEETSOAP~

Meet the wonderful Denise M., owner of ajsweetsoap and her fabulous soapy creations!.

I first noticed Denise's shop because we both seemed to have a major love for Halloween. I noticed her soap several times while doing Halloween searches. Her Halloween soaps are definitely not the norm!! They're very unique and fun! Then I met her in chat, and what an absolutely wonderful person she is! We've become regular chatters! Having been a soaper, all I can say is, not only does this lady have talent, but her patience level must be off the charts! Her creations, whether Halloween, or daily dessert, are FABULOUS! Do yourself a favor, and head down to her shop and check out her scrumptious goodies today!

Catchup....

I'm still having a hard time getting off this "Halloween" kick....Almost everything I'm making for my shop is spooky or creepy or halloweeny. I have to sit down every morning and force myself to make one thing that is not. LOL Something about keeping the balance, but it could be all mental.

It's been a while since I posted. I've been busy playing 'bar maid' to my husband's 'bartender' at his new bar. Needless to say, he likes the bar! If you haven't seen the pics yet, you can see them HERE. And be sure to follow my Facebook page also while you're over there! I tend to have an easier time keeping up with that than my blog! I promise! As for the rest of the summer...we're planning a little beach vacation if we can break ourselves away from the bar long enough. (Not that we're lushes or anything!) I'm liking the frozen drink concoctions in this heat!

I hope you all are having a great summer! :)

Getting Ready to Go Home

So we've spent most of our weekend camping in Myrtle Beach. It's been gorgeous, the weather was perfect, a little chill in the air at night, and high 70's/low 80's during the day. Those of you that know me, know that when I say 'camping'...I certainly don't mean roughing it....like....in a *cough* tent *cough* or something.... LOL We have a camper, a 27' travel trailer that we tote along with us. Momma doesn't ever "ROUGH" it. There's just something about having your own (clean) bathroom that is fabulous!

Anyway, we set up at the local KOA (Kampgrounds of America). It's normally very nice anyway, but at this time of year, it's quite empty. Everyone must be done camping for the year. Anyway, two spots over from us is a 'permanent' camper. That means that the camper has been put down, leveled out, and people live there full time. It has a deck built around it and everything. The people have a golf cart parked in the side yard. All well and nice, it looks neat, it's well taken care of. And now we know why. Every single morning at 8 AM, the man and woman come outside and fire up their trusty leaf blower and wet down the camper with a hose and blow off the deck and 'dry' it with the leaf blower and paper towels. Yesterday they mowed their lawn at 8:15. Now, I'm all about keeping up with your stuff, we take very good care of our camper also, but we don't do it right when the clock tells me that quiet time (from 11 PM to 8 AM) is over. GAH! Another one of those times that I wish I had a paintball gun so that I could shoot them. I swear I'm going to get one. I wonder if there's such a thing as the paintball equivalent of a sniper rifle. Ooooh....I will have to check into that. I'll need one of those. And the equivalent of a paintball machine gun so that I can spray offending drivers that piss me off whilst driving. I've wanted one of those for the longest time, and not only may it help people realize they're driving like jackasses, but I know it will make me feel better.

Well, we're in the process of packing up and getting out of here, so I guess I better get off the computer and help. I don't want there to be too much to do when we get back, because next weekend we're turning this sucker around and going to Asheboro, NC for the weekend. I have a show there. Those of you in the area should stop by and check out the Asheboro Fall Festival!

I did manage to snag a treasury last night after a nice walk on the beach. The dog wanted to chase the sandpipers and seagulls, which kinda sucked, because there was a leash law, so I got dragged along with her. The water was warm enough to dip our feet in. When we got back, the little nip in the air, made me think of the upcoming fall festivities, so I chose to do a Halloween treasury. I hope you enjoy it!

Have a great lazy Sunday everyone!

Yummmmm.....candy corn!

Alright, if you haven't heard me say it before, I'll say it now...I'm a Halloween junkie. Yup! I love it. One of the things I love most about it is....Candy Corn!! So yesterday, I found myself in the right place at the right time, and I managed to snag a treasury. I don't have the patience to stalk these things, like some of the harder core treasury makers, I guess that makes me a lightweight, but I do enjoy making them when I get the opportunity.

So yesterday, for the first time, I managed to open my door and turn down the AC, and I thought, what better way to celebrate the upcoming fall season, than a treasury to honor *the* bestest fall candy, the candy corn? I just need a slight chill in the air. Unfortunately, I think that's a long time coming.

Now I know some of you are gagging, sitting here reading this, thinking "Eeeewww, what is she THINKING? That stuff is sooooooo gross!!" Let me just say, there is nothing better than taking a can of salted peanuts and mixing it with a bag of candy corn. MMMM...Tastes like that old candy with the roasted nuts on the outside and the white fluffy inside, and is the perfect blend of salty and sweet.

Halloween's Coming...

So I've been playing with new ideas. These came to fruition last night. Magnets. I'm not sure if bottle cap magnets are overdone. I have to say that I do like the way they came out. So I'm kind of torn between whether they're overdone or not. What do you think?

Gift Tags Galore

So I finally sat down and finished two sets of tags that I had laying around since before we left for Asheville. I posted them both and went food shopping. Lo and behold, I come back, put the groceries away, make myself a smoothie, check my Email, and voila......the poison tags are sold. People ARE still buying. For the first time since I've been home I felt that little twinge..the "I need to create..." So hopefully, my creative muse is about to come back from HER vacation! :)
