Artfire

ArtFire - Buy Handmade - Sell Handmade

So tonight I joined Artfire and listed my first few items. For a long time I've been looking to spread out my eggs instead of keeping them all in one basket. Tonight I took one of the first steps to doing that. For those of you that haven't heard about Artfire, it's only $7 a month, no matter how many items you list. I've just started building up my store, but you should definitely get over there and check it out! It never hurts to view your options. I'm hoping with Artfire, Own The Hour and Etsy, I will broaden my business horizons.

First Day of Freedom

Do you hear that? Nope, neither do I, I hear complete silence.....I have just begun my first day of the next 180 days of FREEDOM!!!!! There's no bickering, no fist fighting, no expectation to be waited on hand and foot, nothing. Me and the dog are sitting here looking at each other with blank looks on our faces. I'm going to sit with my coffee and relish this first day of freedom. I've picked out some great freedom items from my fellow Etsy sellers to commemorate my day, so take a peek at these!!

I think I'm going to petition to make the first day of school each year a national parent holiday, called "First Day of Freedom". Every first day of freedom should come with a little gift, wrapped up and adorned with this prim style gift tag by everydaysies.

This leafy little blackbird Tshirt, created by sweet3leafprints, shows how I feel very nicely. this one is a toddler size, but the concept, and the art is fabulous using all leaf prints! This shop is definitely one to check out! I only wish it came in adult sizes!

You know I love everything that is listed in the surly shop. I mean, how can I not when it's so much like my own logo? This freedom heart pendant necklace is perfect for every day wear with your favorite jeans. Be sure to check it out!

This 4 x 6" print of Spirit by naturenomad shows just how I feel today. My spirits are soaring, I'd like to be on Spirit's back, galloping through that field bareback and barefooted (both no no's while riding I may add) without a care in the world.

Alas, I think the mutt and I have decided that going back to our blanket burrito to relish in an extra hour (or two or three) of sleep would be the way to spend this morning! The kids will be home soon enough, and then the homework will start....papers and books to cover and tales of first day excitement!!

Relics

So today I finished this necklace. I am really enjoying working with copper, it came out much better than I expected. The Buddha is a resin piece, and the beads are Czech glass that I hand wrapped on 20 gauge copper wire. I also hand formed the clasp myself. So what do you think?

Fleuriste

I have a new candle scent to unveil today. It's called "Fleuriste". It's French for florist. It smells lovely. Like a flower shoppe. I don't even like florals, but I do like this one. Every time I smell it, I smell a different flower. How fitting for Valentine's Day! Which, by the way, I hope everyone had a great one! I know it's all about commercial gimmicks and what not, but hey, whatever, everyone still likes to have a Valentine right?

As you can see by the picture, I've been playing with my backgrounds. I'm not sure I like this one, or if it brings me to a whole new level in my shop. I noticed that everyone now seems to be taking pictures of their jewelry on rice, so I'm taking the steps to strive to be different (again!). Anyway, picture taking is SO not my thing....Really. But if swapping backgrounds on every picture is what it's going to take..then gosh darn it, I will do it! Tell me what you think....do you like this background? Or do you like the plain one shown here???

Well, I made a new soap today also, and I'm off to unmold it and see what it's like! I'll post about that lovely tomorrow. It sure smells good! :)

Naughtiness

I've seen a lot of hate mail type cards on Etsy, and it's made me want to create my own version of them. I did my first today.....and now, of course, I'm having a brain block. *Sigh* that's always the way. Anyway, I'm always open to suggestions if anyone has any....

It's cold here. About 45 degrees. Of course, it wouldn't seem so cold if it hadn't been almost 80 last week....Oh well.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be 39. I'm going to get the kids off to school, the hubby off to work, and get my butt back in the bed under the covers and sleep in. :)

See ya! :)
