Baby It's Cold Outside!!

A Winter's Day Fine Art Photograph by SherriConley $30

Record cold here in North Carolina. Brrrr. I don't want to go outside. I definitely am not motivated to take pictures! Eeek! The dog goes out to do her thang and comes right back in, she doesn't meander around, chasing squirrels, creating havoc outside like she normally does. I deflintely wouldn't mind a light dusting of snow! Just enough to make it a winter wonderland outside, and make all this cold worth while, but then again, it would mean "snow day"...and after that long, hair raising Christmas vacation, I'm not quite ready for that!

So I've gathered up a few of my favorite frozen goods, and showcased them to you in this blog post.

Sleepless Nights Are Upon Us

If anyone has any remedies for insomnia, please share. I long to be like the dog in this ink drawing by ElisaAlvarado......asleep...and very comfortably too it seems! In fact, come to think of it, my very own dog slept like a log last night, snoring and running in her sleep. How do I know this? Because while I was laying there, wide awake, I heard her. She was chasing squirrels or something in her dreams, whimpering and snuffling and her little toes were moving. They're so cute when they do that aren't they? Then, when I rolled over yet again, guess what? Hubby was looking right at me! He wasn't having any luck sleeping either! I'm not sure why this was, in fact, I couldn't even bring myself to get up and craft. Instead, we laid in bed watching crappy TV until 2 AM (and oh was it crappy!), which was the last time that I remember looking at the clock. Either I stopped looking, or I fell asleep, I'm unsure of which, but I can tell you that 6:45 AM came really early this morning.

My first cup of joe is not touching my sleep fogged mind. Of course it looks nothing like this delicious fine art photograph by mariterecr. If it did, maybe it would wake me up? Of course, I think coffee as perfect looking as this only comes from room service, so that would be fine too..maybe I could sleep in, and then order coffee! Which would mean I was on vacation! YAY!!! (One can dream, no?) Where would I be? Hmmm..Hawaii? Bora Bora? Any one of those places would suit me fine. Wait, wake me up, I'm dreaming while I'm awake.

So now the million dollar question....do I give in and go back to sleep, despite having drank coffee already, or do I just keep drinking the coffee and hoping that it will wake me up and help me be a productive member of society today? I know what you're thinking....about that productive member of society comment....and just...HUSH!

I did manage to make a few paper products yesterday before heading of to bed, so I better get to work! :) Happy Wednesday everyone!

So Sleepy.....

I really don't have anything very constructive to share with bloggerdom today, I'm totally NOT ready to face the world. What I really want to do is curl back up in my blanket and go back to sleep until my kids come home from school. Alas, I just made a coffee date, so I guess waking up is inevitable. I could resist Starbucks no longer. Oh, and then there's that list of 100 things I need to get done before my hubby comes home tomorrow and the craft show this weekend! Anyway, I will plan on making a day for just sleeping in soon, so I surfed around Etsy until I found the most perfect sleepy time items to share with you all.

This skully sleep mask (shown above) by BibBon would definitely do the trick for keeping that pesky daylight out of my sleepy time. The print is so perfect for me, and I love it!

I can just imagine how this minky blanket by antoinettes would feel to snuggle up in for hours. I'm sure I'd have to fight my dog for real estate under this cozy blanket!

My dear friend DancingMooney makes the most fabulous soap! This lavender olive oil soap is sure to relax you before bedtime so you slumber like a newborn child.

I just love this limited edition ACEO by scarlettcat, entitled "Sleeping With the Fishes". Talk about a sweet twist!

This fine art print by lisajulia says it all. How uncanny is it that dogs can sleep just about anywhere? Doesn't that guy know he's gonna get stepped on?

Every critter (even the doggie above) needs one of these fishy beds by laurelszoo. My only lament to this darling little bed is just that..it's too little! My 55 pound lab would like one of these (I'm almost certain of it), and even if she wouldn't, it would still be a cute addition to any room! Oh to have a small dog that had a bed of her own and didn't steal 3/4 of mine!

So with that, I leave you for the day. Be sure to get your entries in for the Great Hillbilly Giveaway, you still have a few hours!! Tomorrow will be the start of the weekend, so look for the postings for the winner of the contest. On Monday, look for something great and fabulous coming your way here in the land of confusion!

Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death........

This morning, as I pried the lids open to consciousness, the first thing that popped into my head was, "Give me coffee..STAT!" So I hopped on Etsy and found some of my favorite coffee items, like this fabulous art print by vol25. Although at this point, I'd probably keep both of those cups for myself instead of sharing.

I was thrilled to find this chocolate coffee cake soap from laceysgarden. I mean, how much more decadent can you get? I'm definitely putting this on my B&B list of must haves! YUM!

For those that don't like the taste of coffee, but do enjoy the smell, this 8 ounce soy candle by yours truly would be the perfect addition to warm your house this fall season!

I love this 2 x 2 tile by GretchenKramp. I think that not only would it adorn my refridgerator beautifully, but if I was to design my own kitchen, I would find a way to work these around the perimeter of the tilework. MMMmmmm...coffee goodness all the time!

Wear your love of coffee with this gorgeous necklace by LavenderCottage. I love this!

Every coffee lover needs a great place to lay their spoon after a good stir. This spoon rest by TexasCeramics is perfect! How do I know? Well I have one of course! It goes just splendidly with my pirate kitchen decor!

So pour another cup, coffee lovers, and come check out the fabulous handmades on Etsy!

Fit For A Princess

For years I dreamed that I would give birth to a girlie girl so I could dress her in the shade of pepto bismol pink that only girlie girls can dress in. Sadly, I feel I was robbed. Don't get me wrong, I have three beautiful and healthy children, only they're two pirates and a tomboy, nary a girly girl in sight. There were moments (when they were babies) that I even considered dressing one of the boys up in the pink froo froo dresses of my dreams. I mean, lets face it, the clothes out there for girls ARE always cuter right? All the little old ladies at the supermarket would always say to me "What a beautiful girl you have there!" It' s probably better that I didn't get my froo froo girl, she'd hate me by the age of 4, instead of waiting until her teen years. ("But no Bella, you must wear the pink rhinestone encrusted shirt and the matching tutu and hairbow and shoes also!") Anyway, I digress. I surfed Etsy this morning and found tons of princess goodness for every age bracket. It was very hard to choose, I like it all. Maybe I should start dressing myself that way instead! (JOKE! But ok, maybe not....)

This adorable baby by RachaelElla is....oh wait, did I say baby? I mean Personalized Princess Onesie! Freudian slip? Anyway, this would surely be wonderful attire on all those royal babies out there!

To decorate the nursery, I chose this fine art print from drawandquartered. Definitely a motto that every little princess should live by!

Ok, I have to admit this, I secretly want these jewel shaped crayons by MyKangaroo for myself. If forced to, I would probably share with my princess. I mean, how FUN!!!

For that little princess that doesn't like to wash, or even the one that likes to spend hours soaking in the bath, this fabulous strawberry scented goat milk soap by ShineYourHineySoap will surely do the trick.

What princess is complete without her magic wand from PurpleBusStudio?? Not only does this wand look awesome, it MAKES BUBBLES!!! Fabulous! I need one of those for myself too!

Every princess needs her tiara! I love this Woodland Fairy Princess Crown by StudioPink. And those cheeks, I love those too! Adorable!

For the tween and teen princesses on your list, this royal pendant necklace by MyLittleChickadees is sure to be a hit.

For the punk rock tween or teen princess in your life, this ribbon tote bag by justusgirlz is sure to set it off! This would also make that adult princess in your life very happy!

Speaking from personal knowledge, any BIG princess would love this sterling silver crown ring by chrisparry. Actually, I don't think you can go wrong with anything in his shop. Marvelous work!

For the hearth and home, StudioRegency has an assortment of pretty baubles just in time for the holidays. After all, your tree should be fit for a princess too, right?

After a long, hard day of tea parties and chasing little princesses, any big princess worth her salt (bath salts that is) would love to bathe and relax with this Celtic Dreams pamper kit by EnchantingBeautiful.
